Mary Franz is Vice Chair of LANES, representing payers on the Board. She also leads HIT initiatives for L.A. Care Health Plan, focusing on creative application of technology and workflow in provider practices to help members receive more effective health care. At L.A. Care she and her teams have secured over $45M in grants to implement HIT and best practices for provider/patient performance improvement in L.A. County.
Franz brings 25 years of health care industry experience to L.A. Care, with a focus on helping providers, payers and life sciences organizations improve performance. Ms. Franz most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Connecture, a software provider of sales solutions for the health and benefits insurance industry. She was Executive Vice President of the Healthcare Consulting and Systems Integration Practice and an Officer at First Consulting Group, and spent her early career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, eventually rising to the level of Partner, where she led the Managed Care Technology practice.
Franz holds a Master’s in Science Management with an Operations Research concentration from Purdue University and a Bachelor’s of Science Business with a concentration in Statistics from Indiana University. In her spare time, she is actively involved in saving dogs, and is a founding member of the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County and participates in a number of Doberman rescue organizations. Ms. Franz lives in Long Beach, CA.
